Adventure Series
"Travel, Adventure
and Education!"
Anniston Museum
announces an exciting new travel series. Smithsonian
Institution's Smithsonian Journeys is a travel program offered
only through Affiliate Museums. This program offers innovative
and value-priced trips led by world-class experts from the
Smithsonian who provide an educational aspect to every
life-enriching trip. It also provides a way to travel while
supporting Anniston Museum. All trips are appropriate for travel
minded families as well as singles.
The 2009 trip
schedule is:
* Costa Rica
Discovery, a nine day adventure, leaving on January 26th.
Embark on a great
adventure to explore Costa Rica's lush rainforest, surging
rivers and soothing beaches.
* Spirit of
Washington, DC, a five day trip leaving on April 16th. Learn
about the history of the nation's capital, enjoy special
programs at the new National Museum of the American Indian as
well as view the famous cherry trees in full bloom.
* Ecuador,
featuring the Galapagos Islands, departs mid-fall. Begin by
exploring the rich indigenous cultures of South America before a
five-day cruise of the lush tropical landscapes of the
Galapagos, teeming with exotic wildlife including fur seals,
marine iguanas, giant tortoises and blue-footed boobies. This
area is becoming less available to travelers because of the very
fragile nature of the island, making it a "must-see" now, while
visitation is still possible.
