Q: How do I become a member of Anniston Museum? |
| A:
There are several ways to join. Join on this
website, or telephone the Membership Department
Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. central
time at (256) 237-6766. You may also join the Museum
during your next visit. Regardless of how you join,
we will mail your membership packet with your
membership cards by U.S. mail. |

Q: Who is included in a membership? |
| A:
A Student membership is for any full-time student,
regardless of their age. A solo membership
provides benefits for one person. A Household
membership provides benefits for all who live at the
membership address. |

Q: How long will my membership last? |
| A:
Memberships are valid for 12 months – we even
include the remainder of the month you join as a
grace period. |

Q: When will I get my membership card & info packet? |
| A:
These will be mailed within 14 days. If you don’t
receive it within this time, please call the
Membership Department at (256) 237-6766. |

Q: Can I join for two years? |
| A:
Absolutely! Simply select the two year option upon
checkout. This lessens your paperwork and insures
uninterrupted service. |

Q: What is ASTC (Association of Science - Technology
Centers) reciprocal admission? |
| A:
Anniston Museum members receive free (or discounted)
admission to 200+ museums & science centers in the
U.S. and abroad with a valid Anniston Museum
membership card. Restrictions apply. This is GREAT
for vacation planning! |

Q: Which ASTC locations participate? |
|
A: All listed here except
those within 90 miles of Anniston Museum or within
90 miles of your home address: http://www.astc.org/members/passlist.htm
. Keep in mind that free/discounted admission may
not apply if your home or if Anniston Museum is
within 90 miles of the ASTC participant you plan to
visit. Only the ‘official’ Anniston Museum list
distributed each May is correct for Anniston Museum
members. For a November-April list send a
self-addressed stamped envelope inside a 2nd
envelope addressed to: ASTC Update, Anniston Museum
League, POB 1587, Anniston AL 36202. |

Q: Must I accompany guests who use my guest passes? |
| A:
No. |

Q: What is a Visit Voucher? |
| A:
It’s an option available only to members during the
joining or renewing process. The member purchases as
many Visit Vouchers as needed, and keeps the voucher
to use and re-use for free admission to Anniston
Museum for any guest, whether grandchild, caregiver,
grandparent, or other. Vouchers are $10 each and
valid during your membership year. |

Q: Do members residing outside of Alabama receive
different benefits? |
| A:
A slight variation occurs for those who live outside
Alabama. Their memberships are designed to entice
travelers to our wonderful natural history museum.
Newsletters, store discounts, ASTC reciprocal
admission, and an open invitation to special events
are reserved for nature lovers who are a bit farther

Q: How can I use my guest passes? |
| A:
Members receive 4 complimentary guest passes
(student members receive two). These are one-time
use admission passes to Anniston Museum. Members can
choose to bring a guest with them, or to give the
passes away so that others can visit at their
leisure. Guest passes are not valid at any other
museum. |

Q: Can I purchase a membership on the day I visit
the Museum? |
| A:
Yes. Please stop by the Admissions desk in the
lobby. |

Q: If I decide during my visit to become a Museum
member, can I apply the cost of my general admission
tickets towards a membership? |
| A:
Yes. Before you leave the Museum, complete a
membership form and submit it with your admission
receipt along with the balance. This offer is valid
only on the day that you purchased your admission
tickets. |

Q: Can a friend or family member use my membership
card? |
| A:
No, but you can encourage them to join the Museum as
well. Memberships are nontransferable and are valid
only for those listed on the membership. |

Q: Is my membership tax deductible? |
| A:
Yes. A portion of your membership may be deductible.
We suggest you consult your tax advisor for more
information. |

Q: My membership card has been lost/stolen. Can I
request a new card? |
| A:
Membership cards are valuable for several reasons.
Call the membership office at (256) 237-6766 to
order your replacement card; a fee applies.

Q. When is the Museum open? |
| A.
We are open Tuesday – Saturday from 10:00am-5:00pm
and Sundays from 1:00-5:00pm. We are open summer
Mondays from 10:00-5:00; we are closed on Mondays
from September-May. Times are Central Standard
Time. Note that the Museum is closed Thanksgiving;
December 24-25; January 1 and Martin Luther King
Day. |

involved? |
| A:
Anniston Museum has business memberships that give
benefits to you, you company, and your employees.

Does my
membership help the Museum in any way? |
| A.
Yes, memberships provide much needed income to
enhance this not-for-profit organization. Once your
membership funds are received, they immediately
begin working to enhance Museum services for members
and visitors. For this reason, we are unable to
refund membership dollars. |
